When I was younger I remember Ahkong would always let me watch TV and eat food in his room. When I came back from school he was always waiting right next to the door sitting peacefully. He would stand up and open the gates to greet his grandchildren every single day. My dad told me once that Ahkong would wait for him to come back home after school just like how Ahkong did to me. Ahkong never complained or get frustrated at my siblings and I. He would wait patiently for us to be done eating or watching TV, and then carry on with his programs. He used to watch all the Chinese dramas but after awhile he started to watch Tennis, Badminton, and Table Tennis. He really liked watching racquet sports. He was very happy all the time. Even though I can’t speak his language I still could say a little bit, and when I said some easy sentences he would always laugh and smile because he knew I really couldn’t speak his language! One day I decided to make soup for him. After he had the soup, he told my mom that I cooked very well. The little Chinese I could speak like I love you or I like your hair made him laugh. I learned to treat everyone with equal respect and good manners from Ah Kong. Even though I miss Ah Kong A LOT, I know that he is in a far better place not lying in a hospital bed. I love you Ah Kong!
